Our Choice Grade Bon Chrétien pears, known in full as Williams Bon Chrétien pears and commonly called the Williams pear, are grown right here on Koelfontein and our neighbouring farms in the Prince Alfred’s Hamlet area.  Bon Chrétien (Good Christian) pears are used for fresh consumption, juice, canning or drying. Our pears are grown and prepared specifically for drying and are tree-ripened to allow maximum sweetness and flavour to develop, resulting in a dried fruit light in colour, soft in texture, with a delicious sweet and juicy taste.
