Utterly delicious but not too sweet – this Chocolate Brownie Pre-Mix makes really decadent dark, fudgy chocolate brownies. Just add butter, eggs and vanilla essence and you’re ready to bake.

Ingredients

Sugar, Cocoa powder, Flour (wheat, gluten), Pecans (11%), Dark chocolate (9%) (Sugar, Palm kernel fat, Cocoa powder, Emulsifier (Sunflower)), Salt.

Recipe

You will need:
85 g (85 ml) salted butter
2 large eggs, beaten
5 ml (1 tsp) vanilla essence

1. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
2. Line a 20 x 20 cm baking tin with baking paper.
3. Pour the cocoa mixture into a medium-sized mixing bowl. Add the contents from the chocolate chip and pecan bag and mix through.
4. Add the butter into a saucepan and heat over a low temperature.
5. Add the sugar to the saucepan and stir continuously for a few minutes or until the sugar starts to dissolve.
6. Pour the warm sugar mixture over the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl. Carefully fold the wet mixture into the dry ingredients with a spatula.
7. Add the eggs and vanilla essence and mix until well combined. Take care not to overmix. Note that this is quite a firm batter.
8. Spoon the batter into the lined baking tin and smooth evenly on top. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until a skewer or cake tester comes out clean. The brownie will become firmer as it cools down.
9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the tin for a few minutes. Carefully remove from tin and place on a cooling rack. Cut into even-sized squares before it cools down completely.
