The Tankwa trek comes to Koelfontein

The farm is gearing up (excuse the pun!) for the high energy excitement of hosting part of the Tankwa Trek  3-day mountain bike race from the 14th to the 16th of February.

The route on day 2 (Saturday 15th Feb) descends  down from the Koue Bokkeveld onto Koelfontein over what has been dubbed the “Du  Toit Drop” and then winds past our Old Water Mill…

…the main homestead and some of our beautiful orchards which are in the midst of harvest right now, and then carries on across the rest of the valley.

The watering point on Koelfontein will be right outside our “Kelder” where we do wine-tasting…

…and we’ll also have some boerewors rolls sizzling and ready with all proceeds going to support the Koelfontein Crèche which we run for the children of all our workers on the farm.

And although the riders might not want to indulge in a little wine or boerewors just then, ours will also be the closest watering point to the Hamlet and Ceres town, so everyone is welcome to come and watch the riders fly by between 7am and 9am and join in a glass and a bite to eat.

We’ll also have some of our locally famous “Cecilia’s Farm” dried fruit and nut products for sale as well as our much stickered and awarded wines…

…and some of the fresh fruit that is being harvested at the moment, so don’t miss out!
